King Arthur Flour Gluten Free Pie Crust Mix, Packaging May Vary, 14 Ounces
I make a pretty mean Dutch apple pie, and this is the only gluten-free pie crust I'll use.
I've tried enough disappointing gluten-free pie crusts over the years to know that not all of them are created equal. Every holiday season, I buy a six-pack of this mix because I know I'll go through it.
Each box makes enough dough for two single-crust pies or one pie with a top crust or lattice. The dough is surprisingly easy to work with, and no one has ever guessed my pies are gluten-free unless I tell them.
One thing to know: gluten-free pie crust behaves a little differently than traditional pie crust. You'll want to par-bake it before adding your filling. It's one extra step, but it makes a big difference and helps keep the bottom crust from getting soggy.
If you're gluten-free and have been mourning the loss of good homemade pie, give this one a try. It's earned a permanent spot in my pantry.
